Over time, the greatest speakers and teachers have illuminated their lessons by telling stories high.-Story is a good way to engage your audience and show them how to do the subject, presentation or lesson relates specifically to them. Unfortunately not everyone is born a dish great history and some stories are better than others. Follow these seven steps to deliver great stories every time!

Before you know your audience and make sure the story isappropriate

Telling a story is really important to know who you are and tell them an idea of how to respond to it. Age group, professional level and culture are very important factors, make sure that the story is appropriate for the audience. Even though it says "true" history tried and what might be appropriate and fun for a group might, tasteless and unacceptable for another. Make sure when choosing the theme ofIts history and the language used to implement it.

According Make your story easy to relate

The themes of the stories should be wide enough that everyone can relate. This tactic is also used in stand-up comedy. The funniest comedians to take everyday situations and in everyone's life and make light of them. This is what a good story. It has a story to tell everyone that a theme that is simple, straightforward and illustrative of Lesson. If you selected the right story, and delivered it right, you actually see the lights go down on the heads of your audience. If you have to say: "I think we should be there," you have no history tells a clear and effective!

Write your story in the third presentation for the first time – and is cut in half

I've seen too many speakers much go on about things that I want to get up and shout: "Can this long> Story? "If you think the first part of a story to tell that for the time to write out how to present yourself to do so – and cut it in. Remember the KISS philosophy: keep it short and simple. Give us the nuts and bolts, and nothing ' another. storytellers sometimes get wrapped details in order, because situation experiment and find the details. But in general the details of what time to give and where you have bought, not this outfitThe addition of the lesson or the action of the story.

Fourth You have a clear connection between your story and the lessons

A story worth telling subject, if there is a clear link to the one taught. We all know from common conversation as it is annoying to hear someone just to ask awkward long history together, which in the end because it was. Effective speakers have a very clear connection between the moral of their stories and the topic at hand. If this linkmissing, the story is useless, and your listeners are left to ask what it was.

Fifth Talk to your audience by engaging the senses

A good storyteller involves all the senses. One might say that you hear a funny story on ice, and it will be fun, but what if we give flavor, ice cream, its texture creamy feel our language, see the disorder than the child's whole face and so on. This is whatyou will make your story memorable and great.

Sixth Note: public clues tell us your story

As a speaker, you should always be aware of audience reactions. The speaker will always attentive to lose when the public interest and the appropriate changes to the delivery of history, the language used, the theme or moral, or even the final punch-line. different target groups are not always respond the same story the same. Never mindhow well you do your homework, you can still run into problems. Be flexible and have a backup plan if your story is not as good as expected.

Seventh Deliver your story with some sense!

The key to a story remarkable for its delivery. A passionate storyteller build a much more positive response from the audience as boring! Use variations of tone, volume and intonation to make the story interesting to hear. Ensureto pause at the right time for dramatic effect, and draw the audience of mystery and excitement.

As a Floridian, in fact I never really experience winter. When my parents took me and my younger brother in North Carolina, a winter when we went on the frozen river, I slipped and almost fell on the wall in the cold river. If it were not for the help of my father and a local pawn, helped from the ice would have dropped 40 meters deep in ice water.

Then it was my debut in high school, when my church youth group came to Wisconsin to go to snowSkiing and ate hard head before, when I reached the end of the field. No one bothered to teach me to stop or how to get the right clothing, where to go skiing. So when my jeans get wet when I fell, did for days and days very cold for this Florida. I thought my family Jewels frozen forever and be destroyed.

A few days later I received a local machine with full speed on a huge disc Wisconsin lake completely frozen over. Suddenly hit the breaks and begins with donuts! Woo-hoo! Fun Stuff! A bit 'ofnew experiences and unforgettable, in fact, just for you used to enjoy the sun!

Years later, as adults, when returning from 6 months working in warm Taiwan, I was about Toronto, Canada to go, where I spent the night in transit. I had no warm clothes and thought I would die. As I jumped from a van comforting to 20 meters walk to a Chinese restaurant, the air was so cold I felt in my bones – something I had never felt before in force.

By the wayYears later, when I went to the Soviet Union, I was well prepared with warm clothing and a heart on fire. Is now a world traveler who has more than 50 countries, I know how to endure the cold, but still prefer the warm climate. However, there are always friendly people around the world. My wife can attest to the Canadian, dass Fortunately, she was very happy to move to Florida after we got married.
